ReutersShares of Persistent Systems(up 2.95 per cent), MPhasis(up 2.38 per cent), Tech Mahindra(up 2.24 per cent), LTIMindtree Ltd(up 1.91 per cent) and Infosys(up 1.84 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, L&T Technology(down 0.18 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty IT index closed 1.47 per cent up at 28303.65.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 73.45 points at 18203.4, while the BSE Sensex stood up 297.94 points at 61729.68.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 30 ended in the green, while 20 closed in the red.
Shares of Zomato, Suzlon Energy, YES Bank, Vodafone Idea and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Refex Industries, Cords Cable Ind, Ksolves India, Aurionpro Sol and Par Drugs & Chemical hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Swaraj Suiting, Gland Pharma, United Nilgiri Tea, Jakharia Fabric and Accuracy Shipping hit their fresh 52-week lows.
