Cops seek gangster’s remand
Ranchi: The anti-terrorism squad (ATS) on Thursday produced notorious gangster Aman Srivastava before the court, which sent him to the Birsa Munda Central Jail under judicial custody.
The ATS has also prayed for the remand of Srivastava to interrogate him regarding organised crime in Jharkhand and others states.
The court’s is yet to grant the remand, the prosecution lawyer said.
After taking him into remand, the ATS aims to question Srivastava on various aspects of organised crime, including his past records, organisation members, criminal syndicates, inter-gang rivalries, extortion, modus perandi, and arms and ammunition, sources said.
It may be stated here that ATS nabbed Srivastava from Navi Mumbai on Monday evening. He was brought to Ranchi on transit remand. He is accused in 23 cases related to murders attempts to murder, extortions and violations of the Arms Act.
