Criminals shoot at driver, flee with autorickshaw in Patna

PATNA: An autorickshaw driver was allegedly shot at by three armed miscreants near A G Colony Park under Shastri Nagar police station area in the state capital on Thursday. The criminals later fled with the autorickshaw.
The injured driver, who has been identified as Jitendra Kumar (32), was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he is undergoing treatment. According to the police, he is a native of Jamui district but lives in a rented accommodation in Patna and earns his living by driving auto.
The incident took place around 11am, when the auto carrying three passengers from Patliputra dropped them at Jagdeopath. "The condition of the driver is stable. CCTV footage around the spot is being examined to identify the accused. No arrest has been made till the time of filing this report. Raids are on to nab the miscreants," SHO Ramashanker Singh said.
