JNU warns students over 'Manipur' event

NEW DELHI: Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) on Thursday issued a notification asking for an event organised by a group of students on Manipur-related issues to be cancelled.
The institution said the group had released a pamphlet stating "discussion on the happenings at Manipur is scheduled to be held at Ganga Dhaba at 9.30 pm."
"No prior permission for this event has been taken. This is to emphasise that such activity may disturb the peace and harmony of the campus. The students or individuals are firmly advised to cancel the proposed programme immediately," the notification read.
While members of the 'Collective' could not be reached for a comment, images from students' organisations purportedly showed the event taking place.
