CHENNAI: Greater Chennai Corporation schools recorded a pass percentage of 79.60% in Class 10 state board exams, the results of which were announced on Friday. It is an increase of 3.5% compared to the previous year.
Out of the 6,913 students who participated in the exam, 5,503 passed. A total of 85.3% of the girls who attended the exams passed compared to 74.1% of boys who passed the exams.
V Keerthika of GCC school in Shenoy Nagar is the topper among corporation school students. She got 493 out 500 with centums in maths and science.
Two GCC schools - in Rangarajapuram and Thousand Lights - recorded 100% pass percentage.
Three students scored a centum -- two in maths and one in science.
