Cops recover 130 high-end smartphones

Mandya: District police have recovered 130 high-end mobile phones worth Rs 23 lakh with the help of Central Equipment Identity Register software, said SP N Yatish on Thursday. The recovered phones were returned to the complainanants. He urged people to register their complaints related to lost or stolen phones on CEIR portal, www.ceir.gov.in. He said a complaint can also be filed at the nearest police station along with the IMEI number of the phone. A special team headed by additional SP CE Thimmaiah was formed to crack such cases. District cyber, economic and narcotics police inspector N Jayakumar was part of the team. TNN
