Assembly panel to reply on namaz room allocation

Ranchi: The Assembly on Thursday told the Jharkhand high court that a seven-member legislators committee has been formed to give a report on allocation of a namaz room on its campus. The committee is gathering inputs from other states with regards to similar allotment of rooms for a specific community to offer prayers. The court was hearing a PIL on allocation of a namaz room in the Assembly filed by Ajay Kumar Modi. The case will again be heard on June 22.
RaGa case: The HC extended its order of no coercive steps be taken against former Congress president Rahul Gandhi here on Thursday. The court of Justice Anil Kumar Choudhary was hearing a petition filed by Gandhi challenging the cognizance taken against him by a magisterial court in Chaibasa in the row over Modi surname.
