Hemaa Sardesai to dedicate song to River Mhadei

PANAJI: Renowned singer Hemaa Sardesai will present an original song in honour of River Mhadei at the 'Mhadei Amchi Mai' festival on May 20. Sardesai is known for singing the Bollywood song ‘Aware Bhaware’ which continues to be popular.
Organised to raise awareness and express their solidarity in preserving the vital ecosystem of the river, which is critical to Goa’s environment and its people, the festival will open with the song at 4pm at the Miramar beach, Panaji.
Distinguished personalities, including well known medical practitioner Dr Oscar Rebello, social activist Patricia Pinto, theatre personality, Isabel Santa Rita Vaz, activist Claude Alvares, advocate Norma Alvares and environmentalists are scheduled to join the festival on Saturday.
