India plans to launch an unmanned mission and a robotic mission before its human space flight program, Gaganyaan, in 2023 or 2024. The mission will test technologies and procedures that will be used in the Gaganyaan mission.

India plans to launch an unmanned mission and send a female robot in the first and second missions, respectively, preceding the Gaganyaan human space-flight programme by the end of 2023 or in 2024, Union Minister Jitendra Singh said on Thursday.

The unmanned mission will be launched in the first half of 2023, followed by the robotic mission in the second half of 2023. The Gaganyaan mission is scheduled to be launched in the first half of 2024.

The unmanned mission will test the technologies and procedures that will be used in the Gaganyaan mission. The robotic mission will test the technologies and procedures that will be used to send a human into space.
