Prayagraj: The five members of the judicial commission in Prayagraj to probe the killing of gangster brothers Atiq Ahmed and Khalid Azim alias Ashraf recorded on Thursday statements of media personnel who were present on the spot where the double murder took place on April 15. The panel members also recorded a statement of a para medical staff and interacted with senior police officials at the circuit house.
The team had arrived in Prayagraj on Tuesday and will stay till Friday or Saturday.
Last month, the state government had reconstituted the judicial commission formed to investigate the murder of mafia-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf and added two members to it, including former chief justices of the Allahabad and Jharkhand high courts, Justice Dilip Babasaheb Bhosale and Justice Virender Singh, respectively. Justice Bhosale is heading the commission while Justice Singh is the vice-chairman.
The other members are retired justice of Allahabad High court A K Tripathi, retired IPS officer Subesh Kumar Singh and retired district judge Brijesh Kumar Soni.
