Min decries razing of migrants’ homes

Jaipur: Minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas on Thursday criticised the demolition of shelters of Pakistan-displaced Hindu immigrants in Jaisalmer district and said he would take up this matter with chief minister Ashok Gehlot.
Khachariyawas said action would be taken against officials responsible for the demolition of the migrants’ homes. “The administration should not have demolished their shelters without making alternative arrangements first,” he said.
“When the Prashasan Shehron ke Sang and Gaon ke Sang campaigns even permit regularisation of encroachments on government land, it was unfortunate that the shelters were demolished,” he said. TNN
