Panaji: Tourism minister Rohan Khaunte during an interaction with Union tourism minister G Kishan Reddy in Delhi on Friday reviewed ongoing tourism projects. Goa’s preparedness for G20 tourism meetings next month was also discussed, Khaunte said. He said he has proposed some new projects to the Union minister.
“Projects under Swadesh Darshan 2.0 and PRASAD scheme were discussed,” Khaunte said. The Union minister, he said, has extended support to reposition Goa’s image. “Goa has undertaken the development of tourism infrastructure on a big scale, and it will help to change the image of the state,” he said.
Khaunte also met Union minister for ports, shipping, and waterways Sarbananda Sonowal and sought his help to develop the waterways of Goa. Their discussion, Khaunte said, centred around Goa’s untapped river potential to attract tourists. Khaunte also participated in the inaugural function of the National Museum Expo held at Pragati Maidan on Thursday.
