NOIDA: The long-vacant post of general manager (planning) in both the Greater Noida Authority and Yamuna Expressway Authority has finally been filled.
Leenu Sehgal, who serves in the Noida Authority in the same post at present, has been appointed to this key role.
Along with working at the Noida Authority, Sehgal also worked with the Delhi Development Authority's planning department on deputation, dividing her time between the two entities until she was relieved from her deputation by DDA on April 19.
As per a letter issued by the industrial development department, Sehgal will be responsible for overseeing the work of the planning department for two days each in the Noida Authority and the Greater Noida Authority, and one day in the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) every week.
She is expected to provide a significant boost to important initiatives such as the formulation of the Master Plan 2041 and the implementation of the flagship projects undertaken by both the authorities.
The letter also stipulated that Sehgal's salary will be paid by the Noida Authority.
Notably, she had previously served as GM (planning) in the Greater Noida Authority before joining the Noida Authority.
Recently, Sehgal has been appointed as the nodal officer tasked with devising a common policy for the three authorities.
Her responsibilities include establishing uniformity in planning and policies across all authorities, encompassing areas such as public transportation, road construction, traffic connectivity, economic development, investment, and employment opportunities.
This appointment aims to streamline development efforts and improve the overall functioning of the authorities, said an official.
