Speaking to the media after the meeting, minister T. harish rao said the 84 villages in the revenue mandals of Shamshabad, Rajendranagar, Moinabad, Chevella, and Shabad—all of which are located within the 10-km catchment area of Osman Sagar and Himayat Sagar—would be subject to the same rules and regulations that apply to land within the hyderabad municipal corporation-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>greater hyderabad municipal corporation (GHMC) limits.

The villages inside the hmda borders and the city of hyderabad were no longer reliant on the two water sources. The Godavari, Krishna, and Manjeera rivers provided the majority of the water for the city and the surrounding areas. Additionally, the State government decided to repeal GO No. 111, which the residents of the 84 villages had long demanded. They opposed the GO because it prevented any local growth and left them without it. They would no longer be subject to any limitations on how they may use their land. Now, the city could obtain enough drinking water from important rivers like the Godavari, Krishna, and Manjeera.
