Benaulim: United Boys of Ambaulim showcased a dominant display as they thumped United Youth Club of Bogmalo with a convincing 6-1 victory in a thrilling GFA Second Division League Play-off match held at the Benaulim ground.
The match kicked off with United Boys of Ambaulim wasting no time in taking control of the game. They quickly found their rhythm, showcasing their attacking prowess and putting pressure on the Bogmalo defense. The breakthrough came early as Alex Fernandes netted the opening goal in the 11th minute, followed swiftly by Rayson Carvalho’s strike in the 13th minute, giving United Boys of Ambaulim a comfortable 2-0 lead.
Not willing to rest on their laurels, United Boys of Ambaulim continued their onslaught. Dailon Carvalho extended their advantage further with a clinical finish in the 18th minute. Bradley Carvalho further compounded the misery for the Bogmalo team with a goal in the 33rd minute. However, Bogmalo managed to pull one back through Ivan Fernandes in the 34th minute, momentarily reducing the deficit to 4-1.
The teams headed into half-time with United Boys of Ambaulim firmly in control, leading 4-1. The first half showcased their attacking prowess and ability to convert opportunities into goals.
As the second half commenced, United Boys of Ambaulim showed no signs of letting up. They continued to dominate proceedings and added to their goal tally. Kevin Fernandes found the back of the net in the 47th minute, extending their lead to 5-1. Bradley Carvalho completed his brace and sealed the emphatic victory for United Boys of Ambaulim with a goal in the 61st minute.
