₹5.80L cash, jewellery of Vijay Mishra’s aide attached
Varanasi: Bhadohi police on Thursday attached cash and jewellery worth Rs 5.80 lakh of Satish Mishra, a close aide of jailed mafia don Vijay Mishra under the Gangster Act.
The cash and valuables were recovered during police search following his arrest in December, 2021.
SP Bhadohi Anil Kumar on Thursday said when Varanasi police had arrested Satish in a loot case lodged with Jaitpur police station in 2021, cash of Rs 1.10 lakh, a mobile phone, jewellery and other valuables worth Rs 4.70 lakh were recovered from him. During investigation, it came to light that he had earned the cash and valuables of Rs 5.80 lakh illegally by indulging in criminal activities and utilizing the terror of Vijay Mishra.
Following the developments, police had submitted its report to district magistrate Gaurang Rathi. Taking note of it, Rathi issued an order for attachment of the properties, the SP said adding that as per the DM’s order, cash and valuables were attached.
As per police records, Satish Mishra is accused in various criminal cases, including loot, fraud and threatening and he had also been booked under Gangster Act. He is a relative and also member of the gang of Vijay Mishra, who has 83 criminal cases lodged against him and is currently lodged in Agra jail.
Before Thursday’s action, Bhadohi administration and police had already attached many other properties of Vijay Mishra, his family and gang members worth crores of rupees.
