There is a sharp decrease in the number of workers starting new travel jobs as the figures slumped to the lowest level in more than a year.
According to the statistics from C&M Travel Recruitment April’s total, down by 41% compared with March, was the lowest since December 2021.
The reason denoted by Managing Director Barbara Kolosinska suggested the 16–month low is because the hiring managers took time off.
Additionally stated was the fact that April was the slowest month for travel jobs that I have seen for some time. Much of this downturn can be attributed to Easter, which appeared to have a larger impact on activity than usual, with many decision-makers taking time off during the month.
Kolosinska also pointed out that quality candidates are still in short supply, it is vitally important that they do all that they can do to entice talent to work in the industry by making their new job opportunities as exciting, well–paid, and attractive as possible.
She positively then exclaimed that this month is looking ‘much more positive’ compared for travel jobs in April, despite the bank holidays.
