After giving a blockbuster hit with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.0, Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani have reunited in Satyaprem Ki Katha. Helmed by Sameer Vidwans, the teaser of the upcoming romantic film was released early today.

The film is tagged as the Musical Romance of the Year.

The teaser does not reveal the plot of the film, however, it promises high-voltage emotions including drama, romance, and heartbreak. While Kiara will play Katha, Kartik will portray the character of Stayprem. The couple, in the teaser, can be seen painting the picturesque Kashmir red will their love tale as Kartik’s voiceover plays in the background. The teaser also shows Satyaprem and Katha taking bike rides, getting married, and being heartbroken which has surely left fans intrigued.

Satyaprem and Katha also share a steamy kiss in the end.

The teaser is out and so are fans reactions. While a section of fans can’t wait to watch the film, others found the teaser a cliche with the same typical Bollywood scenes and dialogues. One user hailed the direction, however, feels Kartik’s expressions are the same in all his previous films and the chemistry between the leads is missing.

Another user wrote the direction is superb but the shots are cliched. The tweet further said Kiara can perform a bit and Kartik is just an average actor.

Bankrolled by Sajid Nadiadwala, Satyaprem Ki Katha was earlier titled Satyanarayan Ki Katha. Followed by a backlash on social media over hurting religious sentiments, the makers announced the new title Satyprem Ki Katha in 2021. Filmmaker Sameer Vidwans issued a statement back then and changed the title to avoid any controversy.

The film will hit the silver screen on June 29 and also features Gajraj Rao, Supriya Pathak Kapur, Siddharth Randheria, Rajpal Yadav, Anooradha Patel, Shikha Talsania, and Nirrmite Saawaant.

While Bollywood celebrities appear on the Cannes red carpet, Haryana’s dancing star Sapna Chaudhary of Bigg Boss 11 fame will be making her debut on the French Riviera this year.

Sapna Choudhary rose to fame after her participation in the Salman Khan-hosted reality show Bigg Boss 11 with contestants Hina Khan, Hiten Tejwani, and Vikas Gupta. She is the first regional celebrity to walk the red carpet at Cannes, making this year a particularly noteworthy one for India.

Chaudhary said she was grateful and really looked forward to walking the red carpet at Cannes. She remarked she would have the opportunity to represent India’s rich cultural heritage on the global stage. She said that she was very excited and wanted to be a source of inspiration for everyone.

Prior to this, Hina Khan, Sapna’s fellow Bigg Boss 11 contestant, debuted at Cannes in 2019. Actor Helly Shah made her debut at the ceremony in 2022. She went to the ceremony when her movie Kaya Palat unveiled its poster. Helly Shah is well known for her parts in the TV series Swarangini, Devanshi and Ishq Mera Sufiyana.

On Tuesday, Veteran Malayalam filmmaker PKR Pillai took his last breath at the age of 92 in Kerala.

Parisapparambil Kunjan Pillai Ramachandran Pillai fondly known as PKR Pillai was a noted Malayalam film producer, director, distributor businessman and actor who has contributed many blockbuster Malayalam films such as Puli Varune Puli, Amrutham Gamaya and many more.

Superstar Mohanlal penned down a note a note on his demise and said Pillai’s name should be inscribed in golden letters in Malayalam Cinema.

Mohanlal wrote about how wonderful Pillai was a person and had launched many actors in the Malayalam film industry. The actor added that Pillai’s love and encouragement was a great inspiration for him to work over the years. The actor mentioned while he got the news of Pillai’s demise, he was in Chennai for the shooting of his film Malaikottai Valiban.

Mohanlal has starred in various films directed and produced by Pillai, one of their best films together was Chitharam released in 1988, which was produced by the late filmmaker.

Chitharam was the first film in the Malayalam cinema history to run for 365 days in theatres. At the 100th-day celebration of the film, Pillai gifted Mohanlal a Maruti car and the director of the film Priyadarshan an Ambassador.

Pillai founded a film production company called Shirdi Sai Creation and his film distribution firm was Shirdi Sai Release.  

The late actor has delivered classics like Shobhraj, Chithram, Vandanam, Arhatha, Kizhakkunarum Pakshi, Aham, Oomappenninu Uriyadappayyan and many more in the list that received a huge affection and praise from the audience.

Reports claimed that during PKR Pillai’s final years, he went through financial difficulties.

 Also in 2018, Pillai lost his son Sidhu R Pillai who also was a Malayalam actor. Sidhu Pillai died in Goa. PKR Pillai was survived by his wife Rema and his three children.
