Mangaluru: MLA elect from Puttur Ashok Kumar Rai said the focus will be on undertaking development works in the constituency and extending a helping hand to the poor.
“We will not engage in hate politics and instead work for the development of the constituency by involving and taking into confidence people from all religions and walks of life,” Rai said.
He told reporters on Tuesday, “ Priority will be to ensure the water supply in all the gram Panchayats and employment generation. We will put a check on corruption and further steps will be taken to clear the pending files related to 94C for regularising land. We will also work on setting up a government medical college and putting in place a proper UGD system in the constituency, along with giving priority to the development of Puttur-Uppinangady road.”
He stressed on the planned development of Shri Mahalingeshwara Temple in Puttur through a master plan. Similarly, the comprehensive development of Gejje Giri will also be taken up gradually. “I do not expect anything. I just want to ensure corruption free administration,” he said and asked officials to keep away those who are into corruption.
Meanwhile, he asked Congress workers to strengthen the party and also chalk out plans for a vijayotsava. He requested party workers that instead of spending money on expensive garlands, the amount could be used to help the poor. He stressed on strengthening the party at the panchayat and booth level and to work hard towards winning the confidence of the public.
