DIBRUGARH: Twenty-one days after he was abducted by a group of unknown armed persons in
Arunachal Pradesh's Namsai district, a petrol pump cashier was released on Tuesday.
SP (Namsai) DW Thungon on Wednesday said Dinesh Sharma was released by his captors in Medo area under Wakro circle of Lohit district.
"He is in a state of shock and is being provided medical care. We will record his statement soon. Our investigation is on to identify the abductors," he said.
Sharma was abducted from a Bharat Petroleum oil depot at Momong village in Namsai on April 26. CCTV footage of the site showed three gunmen entering the fuel station at 7.20 pm and taking away Sharma at gunpoint.
The owner of the petrol pump, Jenia Namchoom, is a zilla parishad member of the BJP.
