Varanasi: A four-member team of officials from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) camped on Kashi Vishwanath Dham (corridor) campus for two days starting Tuesday to study crowd management.
After rejuvenation of the KV temple area, KV Dham has witnessed a massive jump in the number of footfalls.
KV temple administration spokesman on Wednesday said the team from SMVDSB visited KV Dham on Tuesday and camped to study crowd management, including regulation in normal days and special occasions. They also studied the management of VIP movements. On Wednesday, the team met officials of temple administration and police for more discussions.
Temple’s chief executive officer Sunil Verma said the study of SMVDSB officials remained focused on crowd management, Bhog Prasad, Annakshetra, sanitation and human resource management at KV Dham, which is pulling huge numbers of pilgrims immediately after its opening in December 2021.
According to Verma, since the opening of the rejuvenated KV Dham in December, 2021 till December 2022, around 7.35 crore pilgrims from across the globe visited the temple to offer prayers. Over six lakh devotees thronged KV Dham on special occasions like Mondays of Shrawan month and Mahashivratri.
