Corporator, 4 others held IPL matches betting

Vadodara: Five persons including a municipal corporator of Dahod municipality were held in a raid at a cricket betting racket operating from the office of a private finance company in the town.
The raid was conducted by the B Division police station of Dahod after it received a tip off regarding betting on IPL cricket matches.
Five persons including a corporator Ishtiaqali Saiyed were arrested from the office while one escaped from the spot.
Dahod ASP Jagdish Bangarwa said Rs 3 lakh cash, 19 mobile phones and two laptops were seized.
Some papers with details of betting transactions were also found from the office. tnn
