Stock market update: Sugar stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading higher on Thursday at 10:14AM

MAGADHSUGAR(up 1.27%), Dalmia Bharat Sugar & Industries(up 0.84%), Simbhaoli Sugars(up 0.84%), Triveni Engineering & Industries(up 0.81%), Dhampur Sugar Mills(up 0.80%), Shree Renuka Sugars(up 0.70%), Rana Sugars(up 0.67%), Vishwaraj Sugar Industries(up 0.65%), Kothari Sugars & Chemicals(up 0.53%) and DCM Shriram Industries(up 0.51%) were among the top gainers.

Dharani Sugars & Chemicals(down 2.30%), Ponni Sugars(Erode)(down 1.42%), Uttam Sugar Mills(down 0.91%), Bannari Amman Sugars(down 0.21%), K.M.Sugar Mills(down 0.18%), EID Parry(down 0.18%), Mawana Sugars(down 0.16%), Dwarikesh Sugar Industries(down 0.11%) and Balrampur Chini Mills(down 0.03%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 36.7 points up at 18218.45, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 144.89 points at 61705.53 at around 10:14AM.

Bajaj Finance(up 1.48%), JSW Steel(up 1.25%), Axis Bank(up 1.19%), Hindalco Industries(up 1.08%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 0.9%), Tata Steel(up 0.66%), Bajaj Finserv(up 0.64%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 0.63%), Hero MotoCorp(up 0.63%) and Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(up 0.53%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Divis Laboratories(down 2.82%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 1.43%), Eicher Motors(down 0.87%), Hindustan Unilever(down 0.72%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 0.66%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.64%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 0.64%), Grasim Industries(down 0.62%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 0.59%) and Titan Company Ltd(down 0.53%) were trading in the red.
