Stock market update: FMCG stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading higher on Thursday at 10:19AM

JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(up 3.49%), Bajaj Consumer(up 2.98%), Hatsun Agro Product Ltd(up 1.87%), Hindustan Foods(up 1.36%), Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(up 1.32%), Tasty Bite Eatables(up 1.21%), Marico(up 1.10%), Vadilal Industries(up 0.79%), Dodla Dairy(up 0.79%) and Heritage Foods(up 0.77%) were among the top gainers.

Future Consumer(down 4.17%), Dangee Dums(down 1.89%), Patanjali Foods(down 1.13%), Adani Wilmar(down 0.92%), Bikaji Foods International(down 0.84%), Hindustan Unilever(down 0.71%), Gillette India(down 0.64%), Colgate Palmolive(India)(down 0.47%), ADF Foods(down 0.40%) and Dabur India(down 0.28%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 46.75 points up at 18228.5, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 187.21 points at 61747.85 at around 10:19AM.

Bajaj Finance(up 1.44%), Axis Bank(up 1.22%), JSW Steel(up 0.91%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 0.85%), Bharti Airtel(up 0.73%), ICICI Bank(up 0.67%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 0.65%), Hindalco Industries(up 0.64%), Hero MotoCorp(up 0.64%) and HDFC Bank(up 0.57%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Divis Laboratories(down 2.94%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 1.72%), Eicher Motors(down 0.82%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 0.76%), Hindustan Unilever(down 0.71%), Grasim Industries(down 0.67%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.64%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 0.62%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 0.52%) and Tata Motors(down 0.48%) were trading in the red.
