Suspect nabbed for shooting passenger on Brooklyn MTA bus two months ago

A suspect has been nabbed for shooting a fellow passenger on a Brooklyn MTA bus two months ago, police said Wednesday.

Juqual Freeman, 21, was arrested Tuesday for attempted murder, assault and gun possession.

Freeman and a woman got on a B44 bus without paying the far near Empire Blvd. and Rogers Ave. in Crown Heights the evening of March 14, according to cops.

They sat next to a 25-year-old man, who got up to leave, at which point Freeman allegedly shot him in the buttocks.

All three ran from the bus, with the victim found a short distance away and taken by medics to Kings County Hospital. He is expected to recover.

Freeman, arrested at his home in Prospect Lefferts Gardens, has 11 prior arrests, police said, including for robbery and felony assault. The woman is still being sought.
