The regular run of the 22895/22896 Howrah-Puri-Howrah Vande Bharat Express will commence from 20 May.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off Odisha's first Vande Bharat Express on 18 May. The Puri-Howrah Vande Bharat train will cover the distance of 500 km between Howrah and Puri, the abode of Lord Jagannath, in around six and a half hours. The regular run of the 22895/22896 Howrah-Puri-Howrah Vande Bharat Express will commence from 20 May.

Fare of Puri-Howrah Vande Bharat Express:

The train offers two types of coaches one is AC chair and other is Executive chair Car. On the Puri-Howrah route, the price of AC chair is 1430 including 328 as catering charge while the price of Executive chair Car is 2615 including 389 catering charge.

Train 22895 from Howrah-Puri, the price of AC chair is 1265 including 162 as catering charge while the price of Executive chair Car is 2420 including 195 as catering charge. It is important to note that food choice is optional in the train and if passengers opt for ‘No Food Option’ then catering charge will not be added in fare.

Timings of Puri-Howrah Vande Bharat Express

The Puri-Howrah Vande Bharat Express will start from 20 May. The departure time from Puri is 1:50 pm and will reach Howrah at 8:30 pm while the departure time from Howrah is 6:10 am which will reach Puri 12.35 pm. As per the IRCTC, the train will run six days a week i.e. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The train with 16 coaches will halt seven station between Puri and Howrah - Khudra road Jn, Bhubaneshwar, Cuttack, Jajpur K road, Bhadrak, Balasore, Kharagpur Jn, Howrah.

According to travel agents, with Puri being a very popular destination for tourists from West Bengal and its surroundings as both a pilgrimage and a beach resort town, the semi-high-speed train is likely to be an instant hit among travellers.Apart from this, PM Modi will also will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate several railway projects valued at more than 8,000 crores in Odisha. Modi will lay the foundation stone for redeveloping Puri and Cuttack railway stations so that passengers can get all modern amenities in future. The prime minister will also dedicate 100 per cent electrification of the rail network in Odisha which reduce the operating and maintenance cost and reduce reliance on imported crude oil, an official of the East Coast Railways said in Bhubaneswar
