Firm to design ops for smooth boarding at Noida airport
The first phase of the airport will come up on 1,334 hectares and is expected to be ready for commercial operations by September next year
NOIDA: The Noida International Airport on Tuesday announced a partnership with global travel technology firm Amadeus for implementing the passenger processing system.
Officials said Amadeus would design, commission, operate and maintain the cloud-hosted system, which will include provisions for seamless check-in, boarding, baggage reconciliation and biometric scanning enabled by DigiYatra.
As part of plans to set up a fully digital airport, the system will have self-service options such as check-in kiosks, automated bag drops and eGates.
These touchpoints will be fully integrated with airline departure control systems and other stakeholders, officials said.
Christoph Schnellmann, the CEO of NIA, said, “Amadeus, with its rich experience and a stable suite of digital solutions, will support NIA in delivering world-class services. This is a significant step forward in our endeavour of facilitating fast, safe and convenient journeys for travellers.”
Sarah Samuel, senior vice-president (airport and airline operations) for Amadeus in the Asia-Pacific, said, “We look forward to supporting an end-to-end airport journey based on innovative cloud, self-service and biometric technology that delivers a smooth and relaxed airport experience.”
The first phase of the airport will come up on 1,334 hectares and is expected to be ready for commercial operations by September next year.
