HYDERABAD: The Congress has alleged that the ruling BRS is behind the police raid on Youth Congress war room in Banjara Hills on Monday. The party said that police confiscated computers and other data related to Youth Congress action plan against the BRS government.
The fresh raid on Congress comes five months after a similar police action in December 2022 against party war room for Telangana and Karnataka in Hi-Tec City, which was being managed by election strategist Sunil Kanugolu and his team.
"Our war room in Banjara Hills was raided by police without any warrant or court order being shown to us. We had collected data about lack of facilities and other issues plaguing 66 assembly constituencies including Gajwel and Sircilla, represented by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and municipal minister KT Rama Rao respectively. All these and other details about the quiz competition to be conducted and plans to take the Youth Declaration to the people have been taken away," Youth Congress state president Shiva Sena Reddy said.
Shiva Sena Reddy said that though Uttam Kumar Reddy had filed a complaint regarding derogatory campaign on social media against him , the police raided the war room instead of taking action against the culprit using that number. Enquiries revealed that the phone number is registered in the name of Ch Krishna Reddy, a Congress leader from Nalgonda district, and it was being used by one of the employees hired by Youth Congress to work in their war room.
