First executive meeting of Shiv Sena (UBT) to be held in Mumbai on June 18
The Shiv Sena (UBT) will hold its first executive meeting since the split in the original Shiv Sena in Mumbai on June 18, a party source said on Wednesday.
MUMBAI: The Shiv Sena (UBT) is set to hold its first executive meeting in Mumbai on June 18, following the split from the original Shiv Sena, a party source said.
The meeting will take place in the Worli area, with Uddhav Thackeray, the party's chief, as the main speaker.
The meeting will be attended by office-bearers from the taluka level upwards, who will discuss the party's political strategy and organisational strengthening.
Additionally, Thackeray will deliver a speech on June 19, the original Shiv Sena's foundation day, at the Shanmukhanand Hall in Mumbai.
The party also plans to conduct the 'Chavdi Andolan' throughout Maharashtra in the next month, during which its workers will inform the public about the recent Supreme Court judgement that was in favour of the Thackeray-led group.
The SC, dealing with petitions regarding the split in the Sena in June 2022, held that the then governor should not have asked Thackeray to prove his majority in the Assembly, but also said that the Thackeray government could not be reinstated as he resigned as chief minister before the floor test.
