The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow warning for Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday. The weather department forecasted that the state will witness thunderstorms and lightning at isolated places across the state. The wet spell in Himachal Pradesh is expected to start on Wednesday and will go on till Saturday, the weather department added.

IMD cautioned farmers to prepare appropriately and adjust their insecticide spraying schedules, as they predict that the spell will bring light to moderate rainfall and snowfall to low and mid-hill regions. This precaution is aimed at mitigating potential harm to crops, fruit-bearing plants, and young seedlings.

On Tuesday, there were no noteworthy changes observed in the minimum and maximum temperatures in Himachal Pradesh. According to data from the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Keylong in the Lahaul Spiti district experienced the coldest temperature during the night, reaching a low of 3.4 degrees Celsius.

From 1 March to 16 May, which corresponds to the pre-monsoon season, Himachal Pradesh received a total rainfall of 223.4 mm, exceeding the average of 214 mm by 4%, the weather department said.

The IMD also forecasted light to moderate spells of rain coupled with thunderstorms and gusty winds in some regions of Delhi-NCR on Wednesday.

"Thunderstorm/Dust storm with light to moderate intensity rain and gusty winds with speed of 30-50 Km/h would occur over and adjoining areas of many places of Delhi, North Delhi, North-East Delhi, North-West Delhi, West Delhi, Central-Delhi, East Delhi and NCR ( Loni Dehat, Hindon AF Station, Ghaziabad, Indirapuram, Chhapraula) Sonipat, Rohtak, Kharkhoda (Haryana) Baraut, Bagpat, Meerut, Khekra, Modinagar, Kithor, Garhmukteshwar, Pilakhua, Hapur, Gulaoti, Siyana, Sikandrabad, Bulandshahar, Jahangirabad (U.P.)," the IMD said in a tweet.
