The directorate of technical education (DTE), Goa on Wednesday declared the results of the Goa Common Entrance Test 2023 (GCET 2023).
GCET is the qualifying exam for engineering and pharmacy colleges in Goa.
A total of 3,224 candidates registered for chemistry and physics papers, while 2,476 had registered for mathematics.
The test was held on May 13 and May 14.
For the physics paper, altogether 3,089 students appeared and the average marks obtained by them were 22.68, while for chemistry a total of 3,088 examinees appeared and the average marks obtained were 27.97.
For the mathematics paper, out of the 2,476 students, 2,373 appeared and the average marks obtained were 27.77.
The subject-wise toppers for GCET 2023 are as follows: physics – Adeep Cuncolienkar with score of 61 out of 75; chemistry – Atharva Naik with score of 70, and mathematics – Hemashi Dessai with score of 71.
The admission process for professional courses will commence from May 19.

Meanwhile, engineering admissions in Goa will be held on the basis of JEE from next year onwards.
The DTE has already announced the scrapping of GCET from the next academic year.
The GCET was introduced in Goa in the year 2005.
