Ranchi: The special PMLA (Prevention of Money Laundering Act) court on Tuesday shifted suspended IAS officer Chhavi Ranjan to Birsa Munda Central jail under judicial custody in connection with the land scams in Ranchi and money laundering case.
Ranjan was in the custody of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) till Tuesday. The ED produced Ranjan before the court a day after it secured the closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera footage from Birsa Munda Central Jail regarding alleged meeting of the suspended IAS officer with Prem Prakash, an accused of illegal mining case. The central agency, however, did not seek further extension of remand for questioning.
