Karnataka's two chief ministerial aspirants Siddaramaiah and D K Shivakumar on Wednesday met Rahul Gandhi here separately amid hectic parleys in the Congress to decide on the candidate for the top post in the southern state.
The meetings came a day after Mr Siddaramaiah and Mr Shivakumar held separate meetings with Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge at his residence and held discussions with him over government formation.
Karnataka Pradesh Congress chief D K Shivakumar met Mr Gandhi after Siddaramaiah held a 30-minute meeting with the former party chief.

Decision On Karnataka Chief Minister In "48-72 Hours": Congress
Congress leader Randeep Surjewala said today that a decision to select the new Chief Minister of Karnataka will be taken in the next 48 to 72 hours.
"Delibrations are currently underway by party president Mallikarjun Kharge. Whenever Congress makes a decision we will inform you. In the next 48-72 hours, we will have a new cabinet in Karnataka," Mr Surjewala said as quoted by news agency ANI.

DK Shivakumar Arrives At Mallikarjun Kharge's Residence
With Congress poised to name the next Karnataka chief minister after the party's win in the state Assembly elections, Karnataka Congress president DK Shivakumar on Wednesday arrived at party president Mallikarjun Kharge's residence in Delhi after meeting party leader Rahul Gandhi.
Earlier in the day, Mr Shivakumar arrived at 10 Janpath to meet Rahul Gandhi in the national capital.
Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge has held talks with all stakeholders in the State. Rahul Gandhi met Mr Kharge on Tuesday to discuss government formation in the southern state.
Shows "Internal Situation" In Congress: Basavaraj Bommai
Outgoing Karnataka Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party leader Basavaraj Bommai on Wednesday said that the ongoing suspense over the chief ministerial face by Congress shows the "internal situation" in the party.
Congress has been holding deliberations over the Karnataka chief minister's post, following the party's win in the assembly polls on May 13. Top contenders for the post including DK Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah have been camping in the national capital, meeting the party's top leaders.
Speaking to the media, Basavaraj Bommai said that the Congress party should choose a chief minister at the soonest.
"Congress is yet to finalise its Chief Minister candidate in spite of getting a majority. This shows the internal situation in the party. The aspirations of people are more important than politicking. Congress should choose a chief minister as soon as possible," Mr Bommai said.
