NEW DELHI: The weather conditions in Delhi were warm and dry with dusty winds on Sunday even as the daytime temperature dropped by one degree, the weather department said. The minimum temperature soared by three degrees Celsius and the pollution levels went up, it added.
According to the India Meteorological Department, the daytime temperature may hover around 42 degrees Celsius over the next two days.
Track the pollution level in your cityOn Sunday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 40.9 degrees Celsius, a notch above normal against 41.8 degrees Celsius on Saturday. The minimum temperature was recorded at 25.9 degrees Celsius, a notch above normal.
At 42.2 degrees Celsius, Sports Complex near Akshardham was the hottest area in the city, followed by Palam (41.5), Ridge (41.4) and Najafgarh (41.3).
The humidity on Sunday oscillated between 60% and 30%. The maximum and minimum temperatures on Monday are likely to hover around 42 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius, respectively.
"The daytime temperature will increase over the next two days, however, there is no forecast for heatwaves. The parts of the city may receive light to very light rain on Tuesday but it will have minimal effect on the maximum temperature," said an IMD official.
The air quality index, meanwhile, was recorded at 259 on a scale of 0 to 500 on Sunday. TNN
