Over the past few months, Apple started focusing on the South Korean market. First, it launched the Apple Store in Gangnam, Seoul, South Korea, and then it launched the Apple Pay service in the country to rival Samsung Pay. To counter Apple’s moves, Samsung has launched its own flagship store in Gangnam.

Samsung Gangnam is its new flagship store in South Korea, featuring six floors

Samsung Electronics’ new flagship store is near the Gangnam Station in southern Seoul, South Korea. It will be called Samsung Gangnam and will start operating in June 2023. Earlier, Samsung used to call its stores Samsung Digital Plaza, but it has now begun renaming them to Samsung Stores. This flagship store in Gangnam has six floors (basement to fifth floor), and it will showcase a range of the latest Samsung devices, including phones, tablets, wearables, TVs, refrigerators, and other smart home products.

Apart from its products, Samsung plans to share behind-the-scene stories about its products and development process every month. During its “Off The Record” sessions, the company will share stories about its business, products, and services, while its “In-House Gourmet” sessions will talk about employment and social aspects of life.

A Samsung Electronics official said, “Gangnam Station is a hot place for Generation MZ (Millennials and Generation Z) and a communications hub. Samsung Electronics plans to operate the store in a playground concept.” Apple has been opening a new store in South Korea every six months, and Samsung is planning to counter those moves.
