SIRSA: Dabwali sub-division in Sirsa district will now be a police district,
Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar announced while interacting with the people during a 'Jan Samvad' programme at Dabwali village on Sunday. He said the move will help combat drug smuggling.
Khattar said his government was constantly working to root out the drug menace from the state. "Taking a big step in this direction, the government has now decided to open drug de-addiction centres across the state. Apart from this, saints and eminent personalities will also be entrusted with the task of running such centres with an aim to guide the youth and bring them on the right path in life," he said.
The CM also laid foundation stones and inaugurated 34 development projects worth more than Rs 159 crore in Dabwali assembly constituency. He listened to the public grievances and also took feedback about the policies and schemes of the state government. He informed that 83 youths got government jobs in Dabwali village during the tenure of the present government.
At Chormar Khera village, when girl students of Government Senior Secondary School complained about the non-construction of new rooms in the school, he said the government has released the first instalment of Rs 70 lakh for the project.
The CM approved 6.8 acre land adjoining Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran the Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board for expansion of Dabwali's grain market. He also accepted the demand of Panniwala Morika sarpanch to set up a procurement centre for purchase of food grains in the village.
Taking cognisance of the issue of wrongly claiming compensation under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana in the Kalanwali area, he directed the officials concerned to take legal action against the offenders.
Contribution will be taken to include these families in the scheme - half of it will be paid by the state government and the remaining will have to be paid by the beneficiary family. The contributing families will also get the facility of treatment up to Rs 5 lakh under the scheme, he added.
Protester at eventDuring the "Jan Samvad programme" at DabwaliKhattar called a protester an AAP worker. The CM was seeking suggestions from the public present about ways to reduce drug addiction. The CM was seeking suggestions from the public on curbing drug addiction, when a person started protesting and people caught him. When the matter came to the notice of the CM, without listening to the person, the CM said: "Are suno, rajnitii mat karne do isko, yeh rajniti karne aaya hai, AAP ka karyakarta hai, iski uthakar pitayi karo, bahar bhejo isko (Listen, he has come here to do politics, don't let him do that. He is an AAP worker, beat him and send him out)."
