PRAYAGRAJ: Performance of a well-known keyboard player of the city, Karan Kumar, enthralled the audience of the Sangam city through an event titled ‘Ethereal Melodies 7, on Sunday night.
Karan, who hails from Prayagraj and is son of renowned medico couple Dr Ranjana and Dr Kamal Kumar, is well regarded for his art of weaving musical magic with his dancing fingers on the keyboard.
His musical journey started at the tender age of 12 when he started playing Bollywood music.
He went on to play classical ragas on the keyboard and has earned the Senior Diploma (four years) in classical music from the prestigious Prayag Sangeet Samiti of Prayagraj with distinction.
The evening started with Karan's rendition of 'Raag Bhopali' followed by nine beautiful and hit tracks from Bollywood films.
These included 'Hai mera dil to awaara’, ‘Baar baar dekho’, ‘Badan pe sitare’, ‘Dard-e dil, dar de jigar' among others.
“Music has healing power. It has the ability to take people out of themselves for a few hours and this concert did just that by providing all present with an opportunity to escape into the beautiful world of music,” shared Dr Kamal Kumar.
The evening also witnessed Arjun Kapoor of Delhi singing a medley to the accompaniment of his guitar.
The show was hosted by Shubhra Chaturvedi and Dr Shivanjali Kumar Chaturvedi.
The function was attended by a large gathering of persons including several judges of the Allahabad High Court, senior army officers, educationists, bureaucrats, doctors and lawyers among others.
