35 students among 45 injured in van-bus collision in Ludhiana
LUDHIANA: Around forty-five people, including about thirty-five students, were injured, three of them seriously in a head-on collision between a private school van and Punjab Roadways bus near a private hospital on Jagraon Moga Road in Punjab's Ludhiana district on Monday afternoon.
Police officials said that when the school van of a private school, with around forty students on board, reached near a private hospital, the Punjab Roadways bus, which was coming from Amritsar, collided with it.
Police said that such was the impact of the collision that the front part of the van was badly damaged whereas the driver side of the bus also suffered damage as both the vehicles were moving at high speeds.
They added that thirty-five students suffered injuries whereas around ten other people, including eight passengers in the bus, also suffered injuries.
DSP Satvinder Singh Virk said that of around 35 students, who received injuries, three students had serious injuries and were referred from Jagraon hospital to the DMCH.
