Man dies, wife hurt as car falls into gorge

Gumla: A man from Ranchi died while his wife sustained critical injuries when the car they were travelling in fell into a 250-ft deep gorge near a bend in Netarhat valley on Friday evening. The deceased has been identified as Amrendra Kumar and his injured wife as Dolly Rani.
“Kumar and his wife were returning to Ranchi from Netarhat. As they neared Luti More, Kumar lost control and the vehicle fell into the gorge," OC of Bishunpur police station Kundan Kumar said on Saturday.
"A team of police personnel went to the spot and after four hours of rescue operation, the body of Kumar and his injured wife were taken out from the gorge at 11 pm,” Kumar added.
The woman has been referred to Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) after primary treatment at a local hospital.
