Complaint against real estate firm

Coimbatore: As many as 12 people, who were allegedly cheated by a city-based real estate firm, on Saturday petitioned assistant commissioner of police Maheswaran, seeking help to get their money back.
The investors lodged a complaint against N Vijayakumar, director of Meritt Ventures Private Limited on Raja Annamalai Road at Saibaba Colony.
The firm had published several ads on social media offering to construct houses and villas. It also offered sites to construct houses at a low cost.
“Vijayakumar showed prospective customers some sites on the outskirts of the city, claiming that they were owned by the firm. Believing his words, several people invested lakhs of rupees in 2019. But he failed to hand over any property and refused to return their money. He also threatened the investors,” a petitioner said.
The petitioners said they were cheated of 30 lakh and urged police to take action against Vijayakumar. tnn
