BEGUSARAI: A 32-year-old man had a close shave when a bullet fired by his father narrowly missed him at a village in Begusarai district on Friday night. The accused, Baue Lal Rai, allegedly opened fire when his son, Durbal Kumar, tried to stop him from indulging in celebratory firing.
"While I was sitting in my house in the evening, a few people came and informed me that my father was seen holding a firearm in his hand near a village house where a marriage ceremony was to be held. I rushed to the place and tried to convince him not to indulge in celebratory firing. When I was talking to my co-villagers, he came from behind and opened fire," he said.
‘Accused has fled’
The incident occurred at Rachiyahi village under Singhaul police outpost. Durbal’s cousin Prabhat Rai said Baue Lal escaped from the spot after the incident. “Durbal had a close shave as the bullet fired by his father narrowly missed,” Rai said.
