Man tied up by tree, thrashed
Ludhiana: A hosiery businessman who stopped to urinate on the roadside near Munian area, was confined and thrashed by a group of slum dwellers at midnight on Friday. The accused tied him up by a tree. Meanwhile, his family members, who were returning from the same function as him, noticed his car. They called the police, who rescued him.
The victim has been identified as Shiva Nagpal, 24, a resident of Imperial Home, Chandigarh Road. Investigating officer from Jamalpur police station said Nagpal and his family had gone to attend a function near Bhai Bala Chowk. They were returning home, with Shiva in his SUV and his relatives in another car. At around 12am, he reached the slum area near Mundian. “He stopped the car to urinate on the roadside when a woman named Anita and a group of other personsoverpowered him.
