Scorching heat affects normal life in Varanasi

During the summer months, Varanasi, situated on the banks of the River Ganga, is known to experience heatwaves due to high temperatures. Unrelenting heat wave added to the discomfort of the people and experts have claimed there would not be any respite from the blistering heat in coming days. This is a common occurrence in the city, with temperatures soaring as high as 45-47 degrees Celsius from March to June.
