HYDERABAD: Cyberabad Special Operation Team (SOT) on Saturday raided a hotel at Shamshabad and caught two persons who were allegedly in possession of 8.5 lakh worth fake currency. Police said that the two accused, who were part of a gang, have been involved in preparing and circulating fake currency.
After the raid, police identified the accused as T Ranjith Singh and M Mohan Rao, both working as supervisors with a construction firm. The two, residents of Anakapalle in Andhra Pradesh, have previous criminal history.
They were in possession of fake 500, 200, 100 and 50 denomination fake currency. “The accused had procured a colour printer, scanner and used Photoshop software in preparing fake currency notes. Kingpin Ranjith hatched a plan with his associate Mohan in circulating fake currency,” deputy commissioner of police (Shamshabad Zone) K Narayana Reddy said.
The accused have been circulating fake currency notes in Karnataka,
Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.tnn
