Gang of fuel pump robbers busted in Haryana's Panipat, 5 held
With the arrest of five men, the crime investigation agency of Panipat police claimed to have busted a gang of petrol pump robbers.
KARNAL: With the arrest of five men, the crime investigation agency of Panipat police claimed to have busted a gang of petrol pump robbers.
The police have also recovered five weapons, including two double barrel guns, one single barrel gun, two pistols, nine live cartridges and two motorcycles from their possession.
Police claimed that with their arrest, they solved three petrol pump robberies that took place in May in Panipat and Sonipat districts.
The accused have been identified as Ashish alias Ashu and Rohit both residents of Busana village, Sagar and Vikram of Matand village and Parveen of Siwanka village in Sonipat.
A police officer said that following a tip off, the accused were arrested from Nain-Pardhana village road on Friday night when they were plotting another loot.
He said that a case under section 398, 401 of Indian Penal Code and Arms Act was registered against them and during interrogation they confessed to executing three petrol pump loot incidents at gunpoint.
Police said that accused revealed that they had looted of Rs 6,000 from the salesman of a fuel pump located at Chhichhrana village on May 6, Rs 6,000 from the salesman of another fuel pump located in Pardhana village on same night and Rs 12,000 from the salesman of another fuel pump located at Mundlana village in Sonipat district.
