Will contest next Andhra polls with BJP, TDP: Jana Sena chief
Pawan Kalyan
VIJAYAWADA: Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan on Friday said he will contest the next elections in Andhra Pradesh along with BJP and TDP. Jana Sena already has an alliance with the saffron party in the state.
Kalyan said the terms and conditions of any alliance with TDP will be made public as he doesn't want to make any secret agreements. He also said that he is not aiming for the CM's post, but has only the welfare of Andhra Pradesh in mind.
If such an alliance indeed happens, it will be the first time that BJP and TDP will come together after 2018, when TDP chief and then Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu snapped ties with the saffron party and walked out of the NDA government at the Centre.
Kalyan, who addressed a meeting of mandal and division presidents of Jana Sena at the party headquarters in Mangalagiri, said his aim is to strengthen his party in Andhra Pradesh with alliances. He said he doesn't want a split in opposition votes, and will not place any condition for alliance with like-minded parties.
