Karnataka Election Results 2023 Live: After high-pitch elections campaigning and record voting in Karnataka elections, the result day has arrived. All eyes are on BJP, Congress & JDS as counting starts today. In early leads, Congress has taken early lead, but BJP is not fare behind.
The voting passed off peacefully on May 10 with a record voting turnout of 73.19 per cent, surpassing the 72.36 per cent recorded in 2018.
The election saw a three-cornered fight between the incumbent Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Indian National Congress (INC), and the Janata Dal (Secular) (JDS).
The counting will be held in 36 centres across the State. A clear picture of the result is likely to emerge by noon.
What happened in 2018 Karnataka elections: In the 2018 assembly elections, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party emerged as the single-largest party with 104 seats, followed by the Congress with 78 seats and the Janata Dal (Secular) with 37.
