Bus driver, conductor assault 17-yr-old commuter, booked
Coimbatore: A driver and conductor of a TNSTC bus were booked for assaulting a 17-year-old boy and forcing him to get off a bus.
S Mohanprabhu from Usilampatti in Madurai district, had recently completed Class XII and was in the city on Wednesday to join a degree course. On Wednesday night, he boarded a TNSTC town bus to Singanallur (route no. 1 C from Vadavalli to Ondipudur) from the Lawley road junction. Around 9.30pm, when the bus reached the Gandhi park stop near RS Puram, conductor Suresh Kumar announced it would only go up to the railway station. He asked commuters travelling to Singanallur to board another bus from the railway station. A quarrel broke out when the boy questioned the conductor. The conductor abused the boy with foul language while driver Anandakrishnan pushed him off the bus. The duo also assaulted the minor, who was admitted to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital for treatment.TNN
