CBI glare on ONGC ex-dy GM, others in Jorhat for 19L fraud
Guwahati: The CBI has registered a case against a former deputy general manager of ONGC, a contractual medical officer, the owner of a private clinic and others in Jorhat for fraudulently withdrawing more than Rs 19 lakh against false bills.
It has been alleged that they generated requisition slips for physiotherapy in the name of retired beneficiaries of ONGC health facilities and their dependents without their knowledge, and in the name of beneficiaries who had died.
The CBI said the case has been registered against Dr Bijoy Kumar Shaw, the then ONGC DGM (MS), contractual medical officer (occupational health) Dr Eashitva Tamuly, proprietor of M/s Kiran Physiotherapy Clinic, Chinnamara, Jorhat, Jadumoni Hazarika and unknown others.
