Son dies, woman injured after vehicle overturns
Dumka: An eight-year-old boy died and his mother sustained injuries after the autorickshaw they were travelling in overturned along the Ramgarh-Dumka Road near Kushmaha village under the Ramgarh police station limits of the district on Thursday, police said.
The son was identified as Ghanshyam Kumar and the mother as Sushila Devi of Badra village under Ramgarh police station limits, they added.
Police said Sushila Devi and her son were on way to the Phulo Jhano Medical College and Hospital (PJMCH) in Dumka for the treatment of the kid, who was suffering from some ailment, when the incident happened.
The victims were rushed to the community health centre in Ramgarh, where Ghanshyam was declared brought dead and Sushila was referred to the Phulo Jhano Medical College and Hospital (PJMCH) in Dumka, where she is undergoing treatment.
“The other passengers, who were travelling in the auto, sustained minor injuries,” A K Rai, the officer in-charge of the Ramgarh police station, told the TOI. The autorickshaw was seized but the driver managed to flee, he added.
Meanwhile, the relatives of the deceased said that Sushila Devi has not yet been informed about the death of her son.
